Enter6: Something to Rave About?
If you’ve been shopping in Seoul, then you understand why some people might think that all the shopping centers were developed or owned by the same people. Until now the majority of new shopping centers in Seoul have looked the same as each other, take HiHarriet in Myoungdong, iPark Mall in Yongsan, and the mega shopping centers in Dongdaemun for example. They all follow a similar design motif and layout.
However, Enter6, the new 13,600 sq meters shopping mall in Wangshimi which opened September 5 could be a breath of fresh air in the Korean retail property scene (I say could because although the center seems to be nicer than what we’re accustomed to here, there still is the potential that it could be all good for nothing). The shopping center includes a center walk with shops along the side built upon the idea of original European street shopping. The streets include European stone patterns, real manholes, and street lamps. The ceiling above the main avenue is said to have been designed to resemble the actual sky and to change according to real sky outside. The name Enter6 originates from the 6 different themed avenues (Green, Sky, Garden, Flower, Flatform, and Downtown).
Currently there 100 brand stores doing business in Enter6. Emart and CGV Cineplex are also located in the complex. The complex also features a large tower including a sky lounge, fitness center, indoor golf and water park. Enter6 is located on the basement and 1st levels of Wangshimni Station, the only station in Korea where four subway lines meet (Joongang, Line 2, Line 5, and the Bundang Line scheduled for operation in 2010). Wangshimni Plaza, located just outside Enter6 is also an attraction in this area as it is as large as the City Hall Plaza.
